The Importance Of Being Earnest – May

Director Theo Spring had long wanted to stage Oscar Wilde’s classic The Importance of Being Earnest and in 2007 she assembled a talented cast for the purpose.  Simon Vines played John Worthing and Duncan Tunbridge played Algernon Moncrieff, whilst the ladies who were the objects of their affection were played by Tamsin Reeve (Hon. Gwendolen Fairfax) and Harriett Jackson (Cecily Cardew).  Her governess Miss Prism was played by Ros Tunbridge whilst Morven Rae returned to the  Parlour Players after many years to play Lady Bracknell.  Chester Stern was almost unrecognisable beneath the make-up as the Rev. Chasuble, and Ted Trickey (Lane) and John Tough (Merriman) were the respective manservants.
